I’ve recently visited a MAC store and picked up a few products that have quickly become part of my daily summer makeup routine. I thought I’d do a quick post to share the two products I’ve bought; Kinda Sexy lipstick and the Hush Cream Color Base to satisfy your makeup sweet tooth.
I tend to buy more MAC makeup when I’m in Abu Dhabi since their stores are much more accessible to me here than they are in London. I’ve been all about using natural colors and I’ve been gravitating to more blush, brown and terracotta tones and hues. The Mac Kinda Sexy matte lipstick and the Mac Cream Color Base in Hush seemed to be just that. They’ve fit perfectly in my day-to-day summer makeup routine and I’ve absolutely loved the natural look they give.
The Mac Kinda Sexy lipstick has a matte finish and is described to be a “neutral pinky-rose” which is a color I absolutely love. It’s the kind of color that doesn’t need a double thought and can be paired with pretty much everything. This is the kind of color that can be described as “your lips but better” with a slight hint of beige. The formula itself is smooth and doesn’t nudge or pull at your lips at all, making it easy to apply. Since it has a matte finish it is long-lasting which comes with the downside of it being slightly drying. You can tell in the picture below that it did cling on to dry patches on my lips but when I used a lipbalm before applying it, it applied much more smoothly and flawlessly.
If you’ve been following me on Instagram (@berry.lita), you would know how much I’ve been loving using the ever-so-famous Mac Cream Color Base in Hush. This color is described as a “Soft peach with icy shimmer” which is pretty much a spot-on description. This is basically a long-lasting creamy highlighter that can be used on the eyes, face and body. The formula is creamy with a very sheer and dewy finish, which is what I was looking for. I’m all about the BAM highlighters I wanted something more sheer for everyday. I love the fact that it’s a great highlighter base and I find that using it under powder highlighters gives my cheeks extra longevity and pigmentation. It’s very blendable and easy to work with and can be worn on its own (for a natural look) or as a highlighter base.
Sorry about this swatch, Hush wasn’t showing up well in photos.
Wearing Mac Kinda Sexy Lipstick on my lips and Mac Cream Color Base in Hush on my cheekbones, nose, brow bone and cupids bow. As you can see, it gives a beautiful sheer glow to the skin which looks very natural for summer.
